What do you like about CAT DAYS? (PS- HOUSE POINTS)
What I like most about CAT Days are the fact that I do not have to have a sub in my room. Do not get me wrong, I LOVE subs, but students do not always value subs for what they do. I am not sure if you know, but subs come in to a different classroom every day. Most of the time these subs have no idea what they will be doing that day. Can you imagine coming into a room of "middle schoolers" and trying to maintain order all the while these "sweet angles" are trying to trick you into not making them complete the work the teacher left. UGH! I hope that you all will see the value of the CAT day and know that we are trusting you to LEARN! Ladies and gentlemen it is not just about the work but it is about the learning that you must do even if Mrs. Diers and Mrs. Konarski are not right there with you. We will be learning how to be better teachers and we hope that you are learning how to be AMAZING students! We will miss you but you will love the teachers we are trying to become. Make us proud.

Have you ever wanted to be an Investigator? Many times as I am reading a mystery book, I find myself wanting to dig into the actual evidence of a case. I want to find fingerprints and learn how to collect DNA to send off to a lab for analysis. This week you were able to experience a slight glimpse into the world of investigation. Have you ever though about becoming a police officer, investigator, or working in a crime lab?
I have learned through this CSI investigation that investigating is not easy work. I do think books, television, and movies make it out to be much easier. Shows like CSI Miami make it look like a walk in the park. I hope that many of you were inspired to not just think out side the box, but to create your own box. Tell me what you learn about investigation? I am not asking for the facts of the case but what you learned overall about investigating as an agent. Happy Writing, Mrs. Konarski Well this summer has been the summer of CRAZY for me. Not only did I go to Ohio to pick up my oldest child from college because he graduated, but his friend moved in too. Mike lives in Massachusetts normally, but he got a job in Georgia and needed a place to stay. Our family joke is we got a two for one graduate deal. Our house is now filled with four boys, one girl, four dogs and one cat. After all of the graduation chaos went down, we came back home and decided to add on to our back porch. I know you think this sounds like a great summer project but keep in mind that all of June it rained. Then it got really hot really quickly. In between the rain showers and the heat we built the addition. Now I can say it looks pretty good, but when sweat was rolling in my eyes it did not look as great. Next came the crazy week in Myrtle Beach. I spent days packing and even got to take Tinkerbell, my yorkie, with me on vacation. Tinkerbell loves the beach, but when we got there we found out the the beach had a lot of rules. No dogs during the day, no skim boarding until 4, so we felt a little restricted by rules. Nonetheless, I found some great sharks teeth while on this adventure and it only rained one day. I spent my hours at the beach finding shark's teeth to add to my collection, while the rest of my family shade tanned. shade tanning- sitting under an umbrella all day After the beach, we returned home to project, after project, after project. However, I think the dogs are helping us decide which projects to complete. The other day Kevin had one of my shoes in his mouth and was happily bringing it to his owner, my oldest son. After that my oldest son, Nate, said, "Mom I think we need to put the shoes in a safer spot." We then had to create a dog proof shoe holder as the next project on the list. On the positive side I had to buy a new pair of shoes. I hope that we can finish the projects before school starts back!
I can't wait to hear about all of your crazy summer adventures. Happy Blogging! -Mrs. Konarski |
